How did you get into wingfoiling?
Windsports have always been a big part of my life. I grew up in Lake Tahoe, California, which is not ideal for watersports but my dad made sure that never held us back. He took me and my brother on crazy adventures from Sherman Island and Hood River to La Ventana, Mexico. I've known how to fly a kite since I could walk but initially I started windsurfing at eight and stuck with it until I was eleven when I took up kiting. As a diehard kiter I swore to myself that I would never get into wingfoiling. (Whoops) I started on homemade foils which I podiumed on in my first ever wingfoiling competition and my passion took off from there.
What do you love most about wingfoiling?
Being on the water with my friends and family is one of the most rewarding things I've ever experienced, the stoke out there is unmatched, high fives and cheering all day. The supportive community that comes with it is the cherry on top, wingfoiling has brought me to some incredible places both physically and mentally.
What is your favorite trick?
My signature trick is a rally.
Next trick you want to learn?
I want to learn a palau and a backflip. (Then fronts)
What does #LiveFreeRideFree for you?
Live free ride free to me embodies the idea of being completely present, it means living freely in the moment and doing your best not to worry or get too caught up in your head. Life is short and you need to live every moment to its fullest potential.
What is your motto?
If it makes you happy it is never a waste of time.
