Charly Martin

Born and raised on Réunion Island, Charly Martin has grown up with the Indian Ocean as his playground. Starting out surfing at just five years old before learning to kite at eight, Charly developed a natural connection with the ocean and a riding style shaped by the powerful waves of his home island.

Specializing in wave riding and strapless freestyle, Charly emerged onto the international scene as one of the sport's most exciting young talents, earning the GKA Rookie of the Year award in 2019 before establishing himself among the world's leading Kite-Surf competitors.

Equally comfortable driving hard through powerful surf or bringing a progressive freestyle approach to a directional board, Charly combines technical ability with the instinctive wave knowledge that comes from a lifetime spent in the ocean.

Now competing internationally across both kite and wing disciplines, Charly continues to push his riding while representing the next generation of riders emerging from Réunion's exceptional watersports community.
