Newfound Freedom Project

The Newfound Freedom project is a fresh new collaboration between Cabrinha & Estuary Brewing.  The project will introduce those who face unique physical and mental challenges to Watersports through a series of instructional days lead by some of Cabrinha's top athletes and staff.  A limited edition 'Drifter' Coast to Coast Lager has been produced by Estuary Brewing that will help raise funds to support the initiative.

Kent Marinkovic, Cabrinha CEO & Scott Harrison, Estuary Brewing CEO explain the concept and how it all came about:

A series of events throughout the summer will be kickstarted at the home of Estuary Brewing in Charleston, South Carolina.  The first event on the 15th May will see some of Cabrinha's top athletes, including 5x World Champion Kitesurfer Keahi de Aboitiz play their part in passing on their love and enthusiasm for kitesurfing to the participants.  After an action packed day on the water, the home of Estuary Brewing hosts an evening of fund-raising at the birthplace of the new 'Drifter' Coast to Coast Lager.  With live interviews with some of Cabrinha's adaptive athletes as well as a very unique auction it will be a great way to unwind and share the stories of the day!

Moving to live right by the waters edge in North-East Brazil, top Cabrinha athlete Fernando Fernandes has played an instrumental role together with the Cabrinha R&D team in the design of new equipment that is specifically designed for adaptive kiteboarding.   He explains what Kitesurfing means to him and the significant role it plays in his life now for keeping healthy both physically and mentally:
