Mallorca’s Joan Manel Ensenyat earns the top honor at an unforgettable edition of the Pro Junior Kite Academy in Tarifa.
The 2026 Pro Junior Kite Academy in Tarifa brought together young kiteboarding talent from Brazil, Germany, Italy, Aruba, the Basque Country and Spain for an intensive week of training, progression and competition.
Powered by Tarifa’s famous Levante wind, the riders spent the week developing their skills, overcoming challenges and pushing their riding to new levels under the guidance of the PJKA coaching team.
The week culminated in the PJKA Kitesurf Grand Prix, giving the young athletes the opportunity to put everything they had learned into practice and showcase their progression on the water.
At the closing ceremony came the biggest announcement of the week. Joan Manel Ensenyat from Mallorca was named Rookie of PJKA Tarifa 2026, an award recognizing the athlete displaying the greatest potential.
With the honor comes a one-year Cabrinha sponsorship, including the equipment Joan needs to represent the brand and continue developing as an athlete.
Joan’s determination, progression and potential throughout the Academy earned him this exciting opportunity and the chance to take the next step in his kiteboarding journey.
